The Cub House Child Care Center

ABOUT US

The Cub House Child Care Center officially opened in Parma Heights, Ohio on June 15, 2010. “I couldn’t stand by and watch as St. John Bosco Parish closed its daycare. After 18 years of raising my four children, I decided it was time to get back to work, and so we opened the Cub House,” says Owner and Administrator Cathy Kavalec. In a show of solidarity, the majority of families and staff from the St. John Bosco Child Care Center followed Mrs. Kavalec to the Cub House.

In a nod towards wellness, the Cub House features home-cooked meals and snacks. The kitchen staff diligently slices, dices and prepares fresh meals, including fresh fruits and vegetables every day. “Childhood obesity is a real and growing problem in America. We didn’t feel that it would be appropriate or in the best interest of our children to serve soda, Pop-Tarts and junk food,” says Mrs. Kavalec.

The Cub House is dedicated to working with parents to help the children grow and develop in a positive, caring atmosphere. The Cub House promotes and provides a safe, educational and spiritually-enriched environment providing children with opportunities to build self-esteem, learn self-help skills, discover their talents, create fellowship through their socialization and stimulate their intellect.

The Cub House Child Care Center serves breakfast, lunch and afternoon snacks, daily. We provide homemade, nutritious meals with fresh fruit and vegetables.
